Statewide testing for all Arizona students is beginning to take place for high schoolers. Testing is a time where stress levels are rising, studying time is increasing, and joking around in class is decreasing. Every individual has a different goal they have set for themselves for these tests whether it’s to get an A or just to pass even if it is low.
The AZSCI testing which tests students around Arizona if they meet the standard and the ACTs that test you on standardized curriculum based college tests.
The juniors and freshmen are being prepped for their upcoming tests in their classes and studying on their own. Freshman Madilyn Scelsi said “ I am studying and making sure I know all the topics, our teachers are giving us aspire prep questions and I am not scared about the test taking because I think I did well studying.” Showing the positive sides of testing and feeling confident going into the test is a good mindset to have to help focus and do the best a student can do on their test
Juniors are taking a test specialized just for them called the ACTS which is argued to be one of the harder tests as most people are studying or being prepared for them since freshman year. Junior Sarah Bouck stated “ I feel very confident and have been going to the websites to study and take practice tests, reviewing my homework and studying each section. I am more focused on the math portion studying that. I am comfortable with the testing and familiar with it since we have been taking it since freshman year.” The familiarity will positively help with your comfortability.
Freshman Scarlett Rich added “ Out of 10 my confidence level is 7/10. I am prepared. I just need to study more, especially the math portion because I am nervous about it.”
Overall, the testing is different for every student based on how well they have prepared, if they are nervous or not Students throughout Arizona are all testing these important upcoming tests.
