Güscht Döner Haus is a newly opened Turkish-Mediterranean restaurant located right next to Harkins theatres. The restaurant interior consists of a row of booths and overall has a very clean aesthetic with windows wrapping around the majority of the building. Ordering and checkout was easy to navigate and the staff was friendly as well as attentive.
I ordered the feast bowl which consisted of rice, chicken, salad, and french fries. The bowl was served with one of their signature sauces, I personally chose the green oasis. Overall, the dish was nicely plated and the portion was reasonable for the price. With a drink, the total was about $20, which was decent due to the very large portion size. The chicken was well flavored, but it was also a bit dry. Thankfully the sauce made the chicken more enjoyable.
I do wish they provided more sauce with the feast bowl rather than charging extra on top of the $20. The salad was fresh but lacked a sauce on top making it pretty bland compared to the rest of the dish. My favorite part of the dish was surprisingly the fries. The seasoning was delicious and they went well with the tart and savory sauce.
Overall I would rate this restaurant a solid seven out of ten, the service was good and the food was decent for the pricing. I do wish they served more sauce with their meals to balance out some dryness. I believe they will improve over time as they are still settling into their new establishment. This is a good place to get a high protein bite.
Jeni’s Ice Cream opened sometime in December 2025 between Kona Grill and Chipotle. The interior is well decorated with a cute aesthetic matching the vibe of their ice cream perfectly. Jeni’s prioritizes bold flavors and new combinations. They make their ice cream from scratch and a standard ice cream order is about $8. The price point is rather high compared to other ice cream places as the standard consists of one scoop of ice cream.
One scoop offers you a choice of two ice cream flavors rather than one flavor per scoop. The flavors themselves are certainly unique. I ordered the brambleberry crisp as well as their classic cookie dough. The brambleberry crisp was very similar to a blackberry cobbler but blended up. It was crunchy and tart and the overall flavor was delicious. The cookie dough flavor was extremely intense and had a rich toffee aftertaste.
Overall I would rate Jeni’s Ice Cream an eight out of ten. I do believe that their price is rather steep but realistically their quality is higher meaning their costs will rise. I do wish they had more classic flavors as well as a strawberry component in one of their ice cream flavors.
Sono Kitchen and Boba opened in the middle of 2025 right next to Chipotle in Santan Village. The restaurant specializes in Taiwanese and Japanese inspired street food offering menu items like salt and pepper chicken, boba tea, as well as rice bowls.
I ordered the Gyu Don which consisted of sliced beef and onion, rice, marinated cucumbers, seaweed salad, cold macaroni, as well as an egg to top it off. The beef was tender and the onions were well cooked. The marinated cucumbers had a chili oil and vinegar flavor, the coldness and spiciness of the cucumbers added a fresh kick to the dish. The cold macaroni and seaweed salad are definitely based on preference.
I also tried the lychee mint tea which also had a strawberry jam walling. The flavor was very strong and I do wish you could taste more strawberry and mint to balance out the strong lychee flavor. I ordered the tea with lychee jelly as well as their brown sugar boba which both tasted like they were well made and high quality. I will definitely be back to try their milk teas another time.
In total my meal with the bowl and the medium boba tea was around $20. I believe this price was reasonable for the quality of the meal. The ingredients felt fresh and well made making the food very enjoyable. They also offer a large selection of sides with their bowls which likely increases the total cost. Overall, I would rate Sono Kitchen and Boba nine out of ten, they serve quality meals with fresh ingredients.
