Music artists have been busier than ever as they manage to perform at sold out venues, release new music, and even push out new films. This year most artists seem to be focusing on revisiting their relationships with fans as well as giving them access behind the scenes on the process of creating their sound. Through interacting with the fanbase, it keeps everyone up to date and excited about what is to come in the near future. 

English singer-songwriter, Harry Styles, catches the attention of major platform users such as TikTok and Instagram with his most recent single “As It Was”. In fact, Styles surpassed Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” for the biggest single-day US streaming total in Spotify history, with a total of 8.3 million streams. Styles leaves fans soaking in one of his most emotional songs he’s dropped yet, but it is not to be dismissed due to its catchy, upbeat synthetic pop energy. Styles made it official that there is an upcoming third album that he announced earlier on all his socials. Harry’s House has a release date stamped for May 20th.

Ironically enough, although Rodrigo doesn’t carry the title for most single-day streams, she is now a multi-Grammy Award winner. The 19 year old singer-songwriter won 3 Grammys, one of each of the following categories: best new artist, pop vocal album (“Sour”), and pop solo performance (“Drivers License”). 

Her long list of achievements does not stop there, in fact, Rodrigo constructed a gift for her fanbase. Premiering at the Regency Theater in California, “driving home 2 u” was a major success and was officially her first ever film created. The duration of the film falls a little over an hour, and the content includes never before seen performances as well as clips of all the work going into the album. The film can be accessed with a Disney+ subscription. 

Numerous artists have begun their tours this year after a large enough gap between now and when safety precautions have been lifted. Large gatherings are not unfamiliar anymore and fans can get back to partying to their favorite music. Artists such as Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Conan Gray, Beach Bunny, Clairo, Justin Bieber and many others are all currently on tour. 

Coachella also returns after a devastating cancellation in the year of 2021. When choosing the headliners, some of the finest music artists were selected to ensure that the crowds have a good time. Headliners include music stars Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and former rapper Kanye West. However, due to some major uncertainty West has withdrawn himself from the festival. As of currently, none one has stepped in place for his opting out. Media continues to look into whatever may have caused this decision. Coachella will be hosted April 15 through the 24th. With summer approaching, artists have been giving us many new songs to add to the playlists.
