While their season draws closer to the end, the boy’s volleyball team maintains their number one ranking in the nation. With a win streak of 17-0, their chances appear to be high when it comes to winning their upcoming state championship.

Senior varsity outside hitter Kaden Andreason played a significant role this season with his high kill percentage. Throughout the season as the team continued to grow stronger and better, Andreason noticed that although their initial goal was to play very well this season, the players have a new goal: to maintain the environment and the legacy that was established this season.

“Being number one in the nation means that you have to win a lot of games… something else we always look at is stats. Our stats as a team is something we focus on and the legacy I wish to leave behind is just continuing to be a cool team. We have a cool tradition where we go and get food at some places after games… having a bond is important as a team,” Andreason said.

Head coach Ryan Tolman also has the same mentality when it comes down to how the rest of the seasons plays out. The focus primarily seems to be on their upcoming state championship game where they strive to come home with the state champion title. Tolman takes a step back to address his primary concern which is ensuring that the team leaves behind some sort of legacy.

“I always hope that when players leave my program they have a solid foundation of hard work, dedication and love for each other. As a program, we want to make sure we do things the right way on and off the court and the success we have becomes a byproduct of that,” Coach Tolman said.

Coach Tolman takes pride in the boys’ efforts and treasures their undefeated season in response to being given a hard schedule. Men’s volleyball success roots from the hours they spend practicing and pushing to do what it takes to be number one in the nation.
