Signing day 2016
Wednesday was that day that many senior athletes wait for all year: signing day. Five Puma athletes signed to play their sports at the university level, achieving one of their biggest dreams.
Gina Bracamonte signed to play soccer at University at Albany. She is excited to start this new chapter of her life at a dream school.
“I didn’t really know about the school until my coach told me they were interested,” Bracamonte says, “so I went for a visit and I fell in love with it right away.” She tweeted about her excitement to go and begin the next four years of her life. She thanked her parents for “putting so much time and money into it and always supporting her.”
Kambree Meskill signed with Northern Arizona University (NAU) to play soccer this upcoming fall. A major attraction to NAU for Meskill was that “it was so close to home and I loved the coaches and how they made me feel like I was a part of the team.” Meskill thanks her brothers for their support and love and for coaching her here at Perry and also at her club.
Lauren Hawley signed to continue her soccer career at Western State Colorado University. Hawley went for a visit and immediately fell in love with the school.
“It’s really beautiful. Colorado is so pretty and I just really loved the environment.” Hawley is thankful for her parents and all the effort they put into her soccer career but also her teammates for helping her build important relationships and friendships.
Case Hatch, a lead linebacker in the state, signed to play football for Southern Utah University after he completes his mission. Hatch is determined that during his mission he will be “growing up and learning.”
While he did pass up some other good offers, Hatch is excited to go on this mission and come back to a great school to continue doing what he loves.
Puma quarterback Gabe Tomaszewski signed to play football at Western New Mexico University.
“I believe I will have an unbelievable opportunity to compete for a starting position” says Tomaszewski “they also travel to some really neat places, one being Dallas Cowboys stadium.”
Tomaszewski is looking forward to playing at the next level and playing some of the best teams in the division. He is thankful for his parents for “never missing a game for as long as I can remember. They live breathe and sleep football, just like me.”
Congratulations to all Puma athletes who signed and will continue representing Perry at the next level.
