Softball suffers loss in first round of playoffs

The softball team’s season came to end on Saturday after losing to Corona del Sol 10-1 in the opening round of the playoffs. The Pumas came out hungry and looked to knock of Corona like they did in the previous year’s playoffs.

Unfortunately, the girls got off to a slow start and found themselves down 7-1 after three innings. Sophomore Taylor Vogel struggled on the mound early and was relieved by senior Alyssa Barlow halfway through the third. The single run scored by PHS was recorded by senior Laynee Gomez in the third inning after she stole yet another base earlier in the inning.

Even though they didn’t make it past the first round, the girls and Coach Chapin made the best out of the year especially with the difficult schedule that they endured.
