As the 2024 election enters its final days, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump have ramped up campaigning in key battleground states.
The candidates have begun making their final case to voters as voting opens up. Early voting began on Oct. 9 in Arizona and voters can vote until Friday, Nov. 1, when the deadline ends. Both Trump and Harris are campaigning in battleground states, with AZ, WI, NV, NC, GA, MI, and PA all considered competitive “swing states.” Both candidates have outlined their policy plans for Americans and made campaign promises that they will put into effect if elected to the White House. As they wrap up their final rallies, their goal is to energize undecided voters as they make their cases as to why they should be the next President of the United States
The Presidential election isn’t the only race being watched, key down-ballot House and Senate races will decide control of Congress and can determine how much Harris or Trump can get done in the next 4 years in the White House. Arizona has several deciding races, with our Senate and some of our House races competitive and considered tossups as of right now. Due to current slim majorities in both the House and Senate, if any party wants control of either chamber that control could very well run through the state.
Whoever wins the election needs to win 270 electoral votes to be projected as the winner. Regardless of who wins which state, both candidates have prioritized every battleground state as they seek to get as many electoral votes as possible. Polling has shown both candidates locked in a tight race as they seek to win as many battleground states as they can. Both candidates have outlined their visions for America’s future and ultimately it is up to the voters to decide who they want to send to the White House on Nov. 5. and make the 47th President of the United States.
