The highly anticipated senior-only game “Assassins” has begun, turning everyday students into stealthy detectives. The game commenced Monday Aug. 15, the goal to locate and shoot an assigned target with a water gun without being shot first. Many have already gotten out, cornered at their cars or spotted after work. With the struggle of locating your opponents’ whereabouts and the worry of trying to stay hidden, it can be hard to keep up with the stress. Here are a few tips to help you survive the high-intensity game.

  • Keep your weapons loaded at all times.

You never know when your assassin could be lurking in the bushes, waiting for you to go take your trash out.

  • Watch what you post on social media.

Snapchat is fun, but you are one screenshot away from your assassins showing up to Dutch Bros and crashing your party.

  • Be aware of who you share your strategies with.

Your plan is great and all, but maybe your targets best friend should not know all about it.

  • Educate your family members on who your assassins are.

It is important your family knows who to look out for so they can warn you if your opponent is by your home. If they don’t know who you’re against, they won’t know who to trust and could even invite them right into your home.

  • Always keep your windows rolled up when driving.

If both cars are at a complete stop, your opponent can shoot you through your open window. However, moving cars are off limits, so be sure to stay focused on the road when driving.

  • Watch for suspicious cars that may be following you.

If you think somebody may be on your trail, do your best not to lead them to your house or a place you frequently visit.

  • If you have a job, park as close as you can to the front of your workplace.

It is easy for your opponents to find out your schedule, and chances are, they are waiting in the parking lot for you to clock off.

  • Don’t tell anyone where you will be after school.

Even your closest friends might sell you out for a couple bucks.
