Debate is under a new rule, as new teacher Randy Duren has taken control. Although Duren has never taught debate before, he has been teaching public speaking for over four years.

This year the debate team has forty members.  Duren said their strengths this year are how more diverse they are this year.  Their weaknesses are nonexistent.  “We don’t believe in weakness,” said Duren

The debate previously had a rough year, they placed fourth in the tournament, and they ended up at twenty-first in the district.  Duren hopes to place in the top five of the state this year.  This year’s debate president is junior Ryan Magel.

Debates first practice tournament is, on September 20 at Brophy.
