Behind Varsity Track
Do any of us really know the track team, the names and faces of the record setters in our Perry Nation who sprint and run at numerous track meetings throughout the season.
Well today, you will know who is behind our varsity track team; know who is setting all of our records of accomplishment.
First up is varsity runner Cade Burks, whose fastest mile, according to my source is four minutes and nineteen seconds, Burks will be graduating this year and perhaps his record will be beaten by his runner up.
Next is sophomore Anthony Haren, described to me as a joker, but right behind Burks in terms of skill, expecting to surpass Burks after he graduates this year.
Third is Kane Hudson, 20-30 seconds following Haren, he’s told to be a pretty relaxed person but very pumped up to participate in a race.
Forth is the newest member of the Varsity team Daniel Garrett, a junior with a time record of four minutes and forty-nine seconds, typically running one or the two-mile in their track meets.
Ryan Mcquillan, a junior, is next, my source informing me that he excels at long distance runs, being a part of Perry track since my sources freshman year.
Gavin King, a freshman, described to me as a joker like Anthony, but less so and overall a nice person.
Lane Engle is next, a junior with a run time of five minutes and eight seconds in the mile, and a two minute and eight second record for his 800’s,
Lastly is Joe Del amater, a senior lagging behind Engle by a few seconds, not much was told about De lamater, besides his affinity for the military and that he may join the Air Force after high school.
Supported by their coach, these are the names behind our Varsity team, many may not know them, but they pour their hearts and souls into something they love, setting records, coming to meets, spending day after day in practice, these people show the tenacity, the will of Perry high to every competitor out there.
