A great start to a new volleyball season
The varsity girls volleyball team started this 2014 season out great with their first win of the year against Higley High School, Tuesday September 2. They defeated Higley in 3 games.
Concerning the win, Girls Volleyball coach Fred Mann said “I felt like we had a really good first game.”
However, Mann may have higher expectations from the varsity team this year. “Decision making wasn’t… always one hundred percent where we wanted it to be,” Mann said. “But we’ll work on it and get better at it.”
In addition, there are 3 new freshman on the varsity team this year.
“Its amazing, honestly its a great experience.” Freshman Varsity Volleyball right side Ryann Dabis said. “I just worked hard.”
The previous girls volleyball team set the bar high for the girls this year. They have high expectations which are being measured up to as of today.
“I’m hoping we make it past the first round of play-offs,” Senior Varsity Volleyball libero Mahea Rubin said. “I think we’ll make it pretty far.”
