Pumas in Pink
A new club is trying to surface on campus, but their past reputation is causing roadblocks.
Most upperclassman have heard of a group called the “Perry Pretties” and their reputation of being an invite-only clique. It has been said that the group is a Perry tradition, but with administration getting involved, the tradition was meant to be gone with the class of 2014.
Two seniors, Alicia Kriner and Olivia Capranica are attempting to keep this tradition alive, but with a new twist.
“We are now called the Pumas in Pink,” states Capranica.
When asked what was going to be the difference between the Pretties and Pumas in Pink, Kriner says: “The club is nonexclusive, any senior girl can be in it; we will support all sports, not just football.”
“Outside of that we will be doing community service and fundraisers, then all the fundraiser money is going to Chandler Unified Sports,” adds Capranica.
Currently, the Pumas in Pink are trying to get approved as an official club but have been denied because of the bad reputation associated. Kriner mentions “that the only thing that is similar between the Pretties and the Pumas in Pink, is catering to the football players.”
