Grad Night, being hosted May 30, is an overnight event for the seniors; from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m., Flipside is the host for the night. Flipside, at 4874 S. Val Vista Drive, Gilbert, AZ 85298. , will feature a variety of activities and booths to keep the masses up all night. Check-in begins at 11:30 p.m. and the doors will be closed at midnight, no exceptions.
“We will be having everything from a Mechanical bull to a cash booth for students to win prizes,” mentions Coordinator and member of Parent Teacher Association (PTO) Mary Benson.
Bowling, a DJ, giant hamster balls, photo booths, and more will be part of the activities presented that night, along with some of Flipside’s activities. Videos and movies will be presented as well as music. Food available during that night will be pizza, pasta, soft drinks, salad, chips and salsa. Also unlimited brownies and cookies will be available. Prizes will be given out such as laptops, gas cards, and even just simple cash. More people includes more competition.
“Only 15 kids are signed up at this moment, if we get 300 kids then we can add more activities for the kids to enjoy,” Benson shares.
It takes approximately 150 seniors to cover just the facility alone. If 300 seniors come, then more activities will be available.
“All the school is providing is security guards,.” Principal Dan Serrano states.
Parents should be happy to send the seniors off because the PTO and Serrano ensures a safe environment for all of the seniors and an action-packed night.
“Grad night is still in the planning stages,” notifies Benson.
