In the spirit of the 50s sock hop and the 80s rendition of the Sadie Hawkins dance, StuGo is putting a twist on Winter Formal with MORP.
Although Perry did not host MORP last year, STUGO has decided to give the school another exciting event, coupled with the annual dodgeball tournament.
“We wanted to create a doable theme, and came up with Perry’s Country Thunder,” junior Spirit Commissioner Londyn Brickous comments.
When asked what the dance is reminiscent of, senior Student Body Historian Rachel Kazanas explains how it is “kind of like the movie Footloose.”
STUGO has even played with the idea of decorations comprising of bales of hay, a big white tent, and twinkly lights; but, no actual barnyard animals will be attending.
“The dance is going to be held in the courtyard to give it an open feel; we are really trying to get the students to go.” sophomore Vice President Amanda Gomez states.
Get ready to rock your socks at MORP and shake your country stuff.
