Journey to the center of 2025

As a scholastic community Perry is a force to be wrecking with. With amazing students, teachers and a common moral values, we are on top of the world. How do we do it? Journey 2025 is a CUSD plan to “Empower all students with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to excel in college, carrer and life.”

The chandler district in comparison to others in the valley CUSD is definitely top notch in resource management, and distributing those goals in an effective manner and taking the students voice into action. It’s time to take a step back and give a pat on the back and make sure these accumulations are not taken for granted.

Not only at Perry but all Chandler schools,Journey 2025 has mainly four focused goals to strive for “academic excellence, outstanding teachers, organizational practice and maximum financial resources”. This “huge encompassing plan” so called by assistant principal Heather Patterson, conceits of new ten year plan journey 2025 (formally known as Journey 2020) with new goals and learning tactics that help mold not only current students mind but preparing the future students and their curriculum.

“With many focus points….that address academics, professional development for teachers and then there’s metrics with every area depending on the school and what the data shows, and achieving” explains Patterson.

With so much hype on the plan, the school board still makes sure that every specific detail is aiming towards reaching the main goal. A lot of consideration goes in every decision the school board makes out of the best interest for students and even faculty.

Although some say the boards plans don’t meet up to the standards and that is doesn’t cater to every student’s individual learning skills, Patterson assures us the essence of  making sure they are meeting the needs of learners on all levels.

Student body president Aaron Clouse gave detail on his experience attending the board meetings. He shed some light on the subject and was very supported of the school board’s way to make decisions affecting the student body he represents. He made it very clear how much the school board takes students opinions into consideration. After all the students are the main demographic getting affected in journey 2025. Our opinions should matter and it’s great that the district and the board understand this and puts this into effect.
