Chipotle cultivate festival brings food and music to Arizona
Are you looking for an event that caters to your love of new foods and eclectic music taste? Next Sat. Apr. 30 Chipotle Cultivate Festival is hosting an all day event at Westworld in Scottsdale that you do not want to miss. The festival includes a vast array of chefs and musicians showcasing their skills to an audience of all ages.
Headlining the event is Young the Giant; an indie rock band with heavy pop influences. Best known for their song “Cough Syrup”, the band will play this along with many other upbeat tracks from their newest album Mind Over Matter. The band’s high energy and raw sound on stage is sure to keep people on their feet, starting their set at 6:00p.m.
To add to the festival of good tunes, “Cool Kids” singers Echosmith are also set to perform. Once an uncover pop group composed of all siblings ages 15-21 years old, the band skyrocketed into mainstream pop. Known for their first single “Cool Kids” a song that is just too upbeat and relatable to ignore, and “Bright” a softer, slightly cheesy love ballad. Their debut album Talking Dreams, was made for festivals with its innocent yet jubilant pop sound. The band begins their set at 4:00p.m.
Other acts include Lukas Graham, Betty Who, Holy Child. Jared and The Mill, and DJ Christopher Golub.
One of the unique and more educational activities the festival provides is due to its most prominent sponsor, Chipotle. Visit the five special experiences around the festival where you can learn about how Chipotle makes and distributes their non-GMO products and earn stamps. Once you’ve completed at least three, bring your program to the Info Tent and you’ll receive a coupon for a free burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos at any Chipotle.
Admission to the festival is completely free, making it perfectly affordable for a fun weekend spent out in the sun. However, while there are plenty of options for tasting, if you are hungry for a full meal, Chipotle and other catering fast food outlets will be available. Furthermore, upfront parking is available for just five dollars. Come prepared for a lot of walking and make sure you bring a good supply of water and sunscreen as the venue is completely outdoors. Doors open at 11:00a.m. and close at 7:00p.m.
