Morp cancelled for 2013-14 school year
StuGo has announced that this years Morp is cancelled.
Previously,Morp, the only girls choice dance Perry holds, took place near the end of third quarter, creating an opportunity for friends to attend a more casual school dance, as opposed to Homecoming in the Fall or Prom in the Spring. However, this opportunity is no longer available due to the lack of student attendance and cost factors of the event.
In the 2011-2012 school year, Morp was replaced by a dodgeball tournament, but it was brought back the next year alongside the tournament. The dance is no longer taking place due to student attendance not compensating the price of the event. Although many students are upset, lack of student participation is a leading cause of the event’s sudden end.
