Basketball is completing another exciting season, ranked number eight in the nation; the team has played extremely well this year. Beating some of the strongest teams in the area and overcoming many obstacles.
Senior point guard Nolan Brown stated, “I’ve learned just to trust my teammates and trust my coaches… just to come in every day and try to get better and just work with the end goal in mind.” Brown expressed that he feels as though the sport is not just for collaborative effort but it’s centrally built off of having team chemistry. Other players, amongst many others, also worked very hard to ensure the team’s win, which allowed the team to go far and into the playoffs.
This year the team remained focused and dedicated. Next season, the team hopes to carry on with what was achieved this year, but not dwelling on the future. Head varsity coach Sam Duane said, “These guys [players] all trust each other, they trust the coaches. It’s a word we use a lot, trust. They make each other better… I think it’s really everything with us, you can be really talented but if you don’t play together and if you’re not with each other, you’re not going to achieve what you want.”. As the season comes to an end, the school commemorates the commitment and effort of their basketball teams.
