Puma baseball nears regular season
With Fall Ball ending and the regular season getting closer and tryouts on February 10. The seasons players to look at this year becomes clearer. With the 20-5 record over the fall ball season some big names arouse out of the roster like right fielder Trenton Pallas, Jayden Israel, and Jaron Nance with great performances over the preseason. The pitching is also looking clean for the team this year with names like Jason Barres and Justin Still come to mind.
The events the team played in over the preseason went well for them as they pick up wins in local tournaments and some tournaments as far as Flagstaff. With these things designed to help with character building and finding potential college scouts to play in front of to add to the nine seniors that have committed to colleges.
The impressive looking stat line for the preseason does not phase the Head Coach Damien Tippett saying, “the preseason helps with team building, and shows we are more disciplined than club teams. But the real season is different, it’s harder and more intense when your facing other high schools that have just as much heart for the sport”. The regular season is more intense and can be unpredictable at times, unlike some other sports. And with Tippett keeping an “anyone can win it” mindset it will surely be an exciting season for the baseball season this year.
February 10th is the day tryouts begin for the Puma baseball team.”come and tryout, come show your talents, I can’t tell you how many times someone came out of nowhere and won some big games for our team.” so go tryout for the baseball team, can’t wait to see what this exciting season has in store for the team this year.
