Sports Unified team makes great showing at track meet
Perry’s Sports Unified team had their first track meet this last Fri. Feb. 26. at Poston Butte. The athletes were gone all day and they competed in multiple events such as the javelin throw, tennis throw, long jump, 100 meter dash, 4×100 race, and the 4×200 race.
They have been preparing for this event since the beginning of Feb. and were very excited to compete against Chandler, Hamilton, Basha, Poston Butte, Higley, Florence, and Queen Creek High School.
On this all boys team, there are some fast competitors such as Zach Cargill, Kaleb Warner, and David Solano. These boys all won the 100 meter dash. Solano and Cargill, as well as their partners Isaac Thompson and Josh Silverio, won the 4×100 race.
They are also having their next meet on Fri., Mar. 4, at Chandler, competing in the same events. They expect to make a great showing at the March meet as well.
