Track & Field season preview
As the middle of third quarter for students rolls around, so does the track and field season for boys and girls. The last two years on the men’s team have yielded the losses of many great athletes, most notably Terren Blanchard in 2014 who ran an impressive 100m dash time of 10.94 seconds, and Brandon Rule in 2015 who currently sets the record for best long jump at 20’ 2.50”. However, this year, two two-time record holders, junior Alex Odell for the 200 and 400m races, and senior Cade Burks for the 1600 and 3200m races, return to the track. Hoping to surpass the 2 second place victories from last year, the track team will be practicing on the track starting at 2:30pm after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for pre-season workouts.
