Perry hosted a well-renowned tournament November 28, named for two-time state champion coach John Carlson. The tournament was heralded by head coach Darren Johnson as a success. “It was fun, we had 300 wrestlers here from 23 different schools, it was great.”

Perry’s wrestlers used the competition as a positive start for the season, with “95% of our kids got at least one win,” and, “wrestled three matches,” according to Johnson,who, as head coach of the hosting school, had to put the invite together.

Him, along with the other numerous volunteers, worked well to produce a quality state tournament. A job well done by Coach Johnson.
