Pumas survive Pinnacle, 3-2 behind Gahan’s late game heroics
Junior designated hitter Garrett Gahan brought home the go-ahead run to give Perry the lead in the sixth inning, as the Pumas hung on to beat Pinnacle 3-2 on Wednesday.
After junior second baseman Jeremy McCuin singled, Gahan came to the plate with PHS trailing by one in the sixth inning, and singled, plating McCuin.
Gahan was perfect at the dish, going 3-3.
Junior reliever Justin Bair earned the win for the Pumas. He tossed 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball. Senior Kyle Huckaby started the game, holding the Pioneers to two runs over five innings.
