The first and only name people think about when they think of the greatest player in history is Michael Jordan. Leader of the Chicago Bulls, the “Jumpman” icon, and a legacy that will never fade. Without Jordan, could the Bulls have won all of their championship titles? Not likely, but, looking at the Miami Heat, if they lose LeBron James, they lose all hopes of going anywhere in a season.
“I’d say Jordan because he has six rings and he revolutionized the game and he was the best competitor ever. But if LeBron wins 3 more rings then I think it’s really close,” junior Jake Mortensen says.
There’s also a huge difference between the two players and the era in which they played. For starters, Jordan does not come close to the physical stature that James has, yet he was still able to get into the paint and be as, if not more aggressive than James. Another difference, the fouls that they used to call during Jordan’s generation, would be technicals now. So obviously people are afraid to contest the so-called “freight train” that is James.
“Jordan has five more championships, and he’s the greatest of all time I don’t think that will ever change,” senior Gunner Smith states.
Sure, without Jordan the Bulls still won championships and without James, the Cleveland Cavaliers got trumped every game, but that just shows how much more of a complete team the Bulls were. They were a team, whereas the Cavaliers only depended on James before he left to the Heat.
“Jordan because he made his team better around him and he changed the city of Chicago when it came to basketball,” junior Dan Pollak explains.
Jordan is still one of the best though and when compared to James, he wins every time.
