With the boys’ volleyball team’s season almost halfway completed, the boys are off to a great start. The team has a winning record of 10-2, and they have come out with victories against schools like Hamilton, Chandler and Basha.
“Right now the team is doing good, we are 9-2 with about eight games left,” junior Jalen Cross stated.
The team is excited about the rest of the season, not only wanting to keep up their winning record, but also make it to state. The team is currently ranked 11th in the state, with plenty of games left in the season which puts them in a good position for success.
Cross is confident about state approaching saying, “If we just pull through with no losses the rest of the season we will definitely go to state and have a chance to be on top eight teams in the state.”
The team has experienced some close calls, receiving the win after all five sets, but the Pumas have pulled through with victories. The boys never stop trying to work as a team, and they work hard in every game no matter what the challenges are.
“We treat every game, easy or difficult, the same. Every game we win brings us closer and closer to state, and that’s our goal,” junior Logan Miller mentioned.
The teams ability to come back, even from behind could be the key skill that will bring them to state. They work hard everyday in practices and games too.
“The team is ready to pull in more wins for Perry and go to state to become champions,” Cross said
The boys are determined to do well in state this year, and are hoping to come out champions by the end of the season.
