Perry is ecstatic to welcome its newest member to the administration team, Maggie Borze. As the new Dean of Students, Borze brings a fresh blend of experience, passion, and a unique leadership style. Her role encompassess oversight of freshmen, managing the fine arts programs, and providing crucial support to teachers, making her a wonderful addition to the Puma Nation.
Borze’s extensive experience is a significant asset. Having graduated with her master’s degree and driven by the desire to lead, she spent six years working for Higley Unified School District fostering crucial connections and building up her skills as a new teacher. There, she worked closely with 6th-12th grade English teachers, navigating an impressive number of schools. As she puts it, “I was very fortunate to work with all the 6th-12th English teachers and to travel to a lot of schools every single day. I had 13 schools and averaged 2 to 3 a day.” This extensive experience has honed her skills in supporting a diverse range of education environments.
Although Borze enjoyed her previous role, she felt a deep yearning to return to a more centralized and specific campus role. “I really missed being on a campus and last year alone something really hit me. I was homesick for a school,” she admits. Her enthusiasm was evident as she spoke highly of the school saying “I always knew Perry was really cool.” Now that she is part of the team, she feels incredibly fortunate and lucky, stating “I am very blessed to be here.”
Borze’s personality is a vibrant asset to her role. She describes herself as “a very bubbly, go-getting personality,” a trait that aligns perfectly with the supportive and energetic environment she aims to foster. Her commitment to creating a positive atmosphere will undoubtedly enhance the school experience for students and staff alike.
Maggie Borze’s appointment as dean of students is a promising development. Her background coupled with her commitment to educational excellence and strong meaningful relationships on campus aligns with the schools vision for growth and support. As Principal Heather Patterson said “she brings a wealth of experience.” As Borze embarks on this new chapter, the Perry community looks forward to benefiting from her vibrant energy and seasoned experience. May we welcome Maggie Borze to the Puma Naton, where she is sure to make a lasting impact.
