CUSD Board modifies mask policy
Following Governor Doug Ducey’s decision to lift mask requirements across the state, school districts are now responsible for deciding how masks will be enforced in schools.
The CUSD Governing Board deliberated this at their meeting on Apr. 21. According to the CUSD’s email regarding the decision, “The mask policy still requires all students in grades PK-12 to wear masks while indoors”. Beginning Apr. 26, masks will be optional during outdoor Physical Education classes (for grades 7-12), and students in grades Pre-K through six will be able to forego masks during outdoor activities such as recess. Those policies will remain intact for the rest of the school.
On May 31, starting with CUSD’s Summer School, masks will be optional “if the CUSD infection rate remains low”.
