Gilbert number one place to live if you are trying to save money
Just one month ago Gilbert, Arizona was no longer a city that only the people who lived there thought was awesome. Huffpost columnist Cameron Huddleston wrote an article titled, “15 Best Places to Live If You’re Trying to Save Money (and 15 worst).” Placed number one on that list was none other than Gilbert, Arizona.
The article starts with the best going from number 15 Garland, Texas to one Gilbert. When addressing Gilbert, Huddleston writes, “Gilbert is now a booming suburb of Phoenix with one of the highest median incomes in the state of Arizona. Nearly 34 percent of the city’s population is characterized as “boomburbs” with a median household income of $105,000, according Gilbert economic development data.”
Gilbert is not the only place in Arizona to make the top of the list though. Chandler, Arizona, Gilbert’s neighbor ranks number five. Huddleston explains, “Housing costs in this suburb of Phoenix are actually higher than its much larger neighbor [Gilbert].
Where Gilbert’s median home listing price is at $300,000, Chandler’s is even higher at $310,990. The same thing that helped Gilbert make the top of the list helps Chandler as well. Gilbert’s high household income of $105,000 offsets their high home listing price Chandlers median income does the same at $72,072. The difference is in Gilbert’s case the offset of income versus home pricing works more to their favor.
This article draws in more people to Gilbert and Chandler. So these two suburbs that no one outside of Arizona knows anything about has reason to know of us and reason to come live here. Want to know what the other cities on the list were? FInd out more at:
