The debate team at Perry has been having a rough season this year. So far, they have placed 4th due to the cancellation of past tournaments. Overall the team has improved since last year, as more people have joined the team giving them an edge. This year, Vice President JJ Andrade has racked up the most performance points.

“The debate team has been doing very good, we’ve gotten to the final rounds a couple times and considering we have a lot of novice people this year we’ve improved immensely,” Andrade says.

Mrs. Buzan also adds that the debate team is currently 21st in their district, and that they plan on attending the state finals this year when they return from spring break. Now all debate has to do is prepare for the final tournament to redeem themselves from a controversial season.
