Senior Brailyn Miller Ruiz has found her niche in talents that take most grown adults many years to master. From nail art, to handmade jewelry, Miller Ruiz is always finding ways to display her talents and hobbies to her peers and those inspired by her work.
Inspired by her grandma, Miller Ruiz stated, “My grandma always made jewelry and taught me how to make it.” Her jewelry is more of a hands on, creative experience for the one receiving the jewelry. Miller Ruiz’s jewelry includes necklaces and earrings, in which you get to decide your own charms and beads while she attaches them and makes them presentable. Although the prices range, Miller Ruiz makes her jewelry affordable and absolutely worth it. Using only plated gold and sterling silver, she is sure to make the jewelry last a lifetime. She also shared that she sticks with these things because “they make her happy, they are both creative, and they give her something to do for fun that also benefits other people.”
Nails have been a hobby for Miller Ruiz as of recently as well. She said, “I started by doing my sister and her friends’ nails, then I got all my own nail supplies and I am still practicing. However, I have gotten a lot better at it over time.” She can do all sorts of designs including, multi color designs, french tips, and other things like stars and many more. Miller Ruiz does all nails on Gel-X nails, or just natural gel nails.
Once again, Miller Ruiz is finding ways to make herself and others happy while incorporating her hobbies and her talents to do so. She will be graduating in the spring of 2025 with hopes of still pursuing these talents for time to come.
