Junior Mia Le has decided to expand upon one of her passions by starting a crocheting business. She started the business because she always liked the managing and selling aspects of marketing.
Le began crocheting with her mom during COVID as something to do, she and her mother saw people doing different crafts with the surplus of time they had and decided to start crocheting. Le stated, “I started it (the business) a few months ago, it was around late August, and I’ve always wanted to do something like this.” Le set up small pop-up stands as a child and has been interested in business for quite some time, this led her to come up with the idea to start a business in the first place.
Le explained, “Right now I have an Instagram account and all of it is run through Etsy, but I want to start doing more in-person things through markets.” So far business is going pretty well for Le with the presence of her business being online for the most part, Le hopes that can change in the future. She added, “I’m doing well with the whole marketing aspect, and in the future, I think it can do really good if I keep going on this path.” Currently, she is creating accessories to sell such as small stuffed animals. As of right now, Le is currently selling small flower coasters, scrunchies, and lily of the valley car accessories that can be hung from the rearview mirror as well as several other accessories.
Le has always had a passion for marketing and business which is ultimately why she is deciding to start this business. Le stated, “It’s always been something that I’ve been interested in, I’ve kept up with it since I started.” Le’s interest in marketing and selling has been one of the driving forces as to why she decided to start her business in the first place. “My friend Ellie Martin has been helping me produce all the products, I’m doing a little in-person thing at the holiday concert coming up,” Le added. Martin has helped Le with some of the inventory for the upcoming holiday concert as the concert gets closer, Martin also crochets.
Ultimately Le’s passion for crocheting as well as her interest in marketing and business has led her to start her own business. Le hopes to grow her business over time as she seeks to sell more items and build upon her passion.
