The Chanting Pumas
Choir is more advanced than one may think. This year, unlike previous years, has four different types of choirs, some more advanced than others . Possible choir choices go from intermediate choir, advanced women’s choir, concert choir, and even a smaller jazz choir group.
This year, the choir teams have been pushing themselves to a different level, and learning more than ever. Choir gives students a chance to not only expresses themselves through singing, but also teaches the students the true value of leadership.
“We’ve got a lot of student leaders in each of the choirs,” Joe Little says, choral director, “choir teaches cooperation and leadership.”
Joe little is the choral director who teaches all four of the possible choir groups. Not only does Little direct his choir groups, but also teaches beginning guitar. This year, Little hopes that choir is as successful as the previous years have shown.
Currently, choir has an upcoming concert scheduled for the 26th this month. Also, this spring choir plans on taking a trip to California. “We got a festival happening and is heading to California in spring, so they want it.”
However, choir is in need of money in order to fund upcoming festivals. Little plans on creating fundraisers for our Puma singers and is willing to except tax donations from anyone.
The choir teams are looking forward to a good year and are excited for the upcoming festivals and there trip to California.
