JK Rowling’s new movie continuation
I solemnly swear JK Rowling is up to another movie series
When the Harry Potter movie series came to an end back in 2011, one could almost hear the cries of the mourning fans all around the world. The boy wizard has inspired clubs, bands, puppet shows, musicals, and YouTube channels since his first book was released in 1997, but after the release of the final movie, it seemed as if the reign of The Boy Who Lived was over.
At least, until JK Rowling announced that there would be at least one more movie.
On Sept. 12, the famous author announced that the book she wrote as a companion to her Harry Potter series, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, would be made into a movie series produced by Warner Brothers, and written by Rowling herself.
In her Sept. 12 Facebook post Rowling stated, “’Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ is neither a prequel nor a sequel to the Harry Potter series, but an extension of the wizarding world.”
Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who portrayed Potter in the movies, though at first seeming upset with the idea of new movies, recently warmed up to the idea, stating that he is open to the idea of reappearing as the character that made him famous. He also said that the idea of an intertwining storyline “excites him,” but that he would only appear if he found the storyline interesting.
For most Potter fans though, these words are enough to tide them over until the next Quidditch Cup.
