Boys Soccer

November is the worst time to call yourself a soccer player; from juggling an already stressful life, plus the added pressure that comes from school tryouts to some also having to balance it with their commitment to their club teams.  The men’s soccer team will be experiencing this in full force.

The disappointing record from last year, being a  7-11 overall and a league score of 4-8, provides evidence to the amount of work the team has to do in order to reach their fullest potential this year.

“Well last year it didn’t look so good, because we didn’t even make playoffs and had a pretty bad record,” said senior Josue Navarro, the varsity center back. “I think this program [still] has a lot of years to develop. We definitely have some good pieces this year and we are hoping to make a run [for playoffs] and maybe not be the underdogs.”

With the loss of only three seniors from the starting line up, the similar team standings will hopefully help with fine-tuning the problems from last year.

Varsity  head coach, Brian Crayon stated, “Everyone  learned a little bit from last year, even the guys returning as seniors. I think that everyone believes in eachother more than they did last year.”

This upcoming season, the players’ main goal seems to be winning more games and eventually heading to playoffs in hopes of destroying their tarnish reputation given to them from previous years.
