The girls volleyball team improved its Power Point record to a perfect 9-0 last night with a sweep of Caesar Chavez, 3-0.

Senior Bobbi Sczruba had a career day, leading all players with 9 kills; she also added three assists, helping the Pumas beat the Champions 25-7, 25-15 and 25-12.

Sophomore Taylor Knoll also added eight kills. Juniors Ashley Greene, Mahea Rubin and senior Talise Babbitt lead PHS in scoring, all of whom tallied nine points, respectively.

The Pumas travel to Mountain Pointe tomorrow for a match that will certainly have a lot of people watching. Head coach Fred Mann will make his first appearance at MPHS since leaving the school he coached for two decades.

The Puma volleyball program – which has undefeated teams at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels – is off to its best start in school history. Action at MPHS will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday.
