DECA’S Puma Den on wheels to make its debut soon

It has almost been a year since the Puma Den debuted. To celebrate this anniversary, DECA is expanding their business to a mobile location.

The Puma Den is located at the corner of the new F building, and sells snacks and sodas at a less expensive rate than the cafeteria. A bag of Cheetos that would normally cost a dollar at the vending machine costs only 75 cents at the Puma Den.

Some students believe that the reasonable prices are not worth the walk, so DECA has now made it easier for students to buy their products.

“Now rather than making the students come to us, we can come to them,” explained DECA teacher Rob Lange. The club will debut their store on wheels: the Puma Express.

The Puma Express provides a convenient way for students to access the goods that the Puma Den has to offer without the hassle.

“A lot of people will be more willing to go to the cart considering that it’s not too far of a walk,” said DECA vice-president Ryan Zolin.

The Puma Express will sell products such as Fruit Roll-Ups, Pop Tarts and drinks. Prices will remain the same as their physical store in the F-building. Although the physical store and the mobile store will offer very similar items, students should still expect to find their best-selling products in the original location.

“Popular products like t-shirts and coffee will remain in the [physical] store” said senior DECA member Delaney Morrill.

District rules place limitations on the sale of food around the cafeteria. “We have to be 300 feet away from the cafeteria”, stated senior DECA member Kinsey Sullivan. However, the Puma Express can be found near the courtyard during lunches and before school.

Although the Puma Express is still under construction, DECA students remain optimistic. “Hopefully it will be done by [February 4th],” Morrill stated.
