Back to school 2013: nearly 2,900 Pumas on campus

Students arrive on campus for the first time in almost two months. This fall, PHS will house nearly 2,900 students.

With the start of the new school year, Perry’s new and returning students strut their stuff across campus for the first time in almost 2 months. Girls show of their new haircuts and backpacks, while boys brag about their trips to Hawaii and how many bad guys they shoot in Call of Duty.

Altogether student from all over Chandler and Gilbert are back into the learning curve. Summer is dwindling to and end, snorkels and suitcases are being put back into the closets only to be traded for backpacks and lunch boxes.

Welcome back Pumas for school year 2013-2014! Lets make it a great year!

Paige Coakley is in her Senior year at Perry High School. She is a returning newspaper student for the 3rd consecutive year. Her background includes being a staff writer, photography editor, and the 2014-2015 Editor in Chief. She has won four state awards in her first year of newspaper earning one Superior award, two Excellent awards and one Honorable Mention award. These awards were for both story writing and photography. After graduation, Paige will attend Northern Arizona University, in the pursuit of a Master's Degree in English Language and Literature.
