“Channel Orange,” that was released in 2012, Ocean left his fans waiting when statements of his new album said it would be released on July 1st 2016, but as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks turned into months, Ocean’s fans started to become skeptical.

Finally released on August 20, 2016 the album his fans patiently waited for was released to the public. “Blonde”  is a mix of emotional and introspective music as well as R&B; very different compared to this generation’s preferred music.

Caught in the midst of EDM, Trap, and Teeny Bop music, Ocean’s new album still reflects on the old slow R&B music that generations in the past are familiar with.

As “Channel Orange” is still listened to by many people around the world, so is “Blonde.” There have been many comparisons between the two albums. It seems that “Channel Orange” is a mix between a love and open-minded piece, as compared to “Blonde” which reaches into Ocean’s deep thoughts, but also contains songs like “Nike” which can be interpreted as vulgar and profane.

Listeners can feel the emotion in Ocean’s writing as they listen to his songs; there are many thoughts, tears, and fumes of anger with every song Ocean has published.

Ocean also spends his time being a subtle artist. Many times viewers do not see Ocean’s face on the cover of a magazine, or being broadcasted on TMZ.

In my opinion, Ocean did an amazing job creating his album and I strongly recommend people to listen, not for views or rankings, or publicity, but because Ocean has an emotion inside of him that music opens up and turns into naturally born hits or our generation.
