The Cove

Bringing the beach element to our desert infested landscape, the Cove provides a refreshing breath of the sea air.

Decorated with seashells, a life size swordfish, and fishing nets strewn about the small dining area, customers immediately feel their sea legs. The food is also prepared with a slight sea twist.

Our full order came to one order of onion rings, Fish N’ Chips, and the self-titled Cove Burger.  First out came the onion rings. However, instead of being the outback style, dry, flaky onion rings that we desert folk are used to, the Cove merely slathered them in a butter and sea-salt -concoction and grilled them.

There were no crispy, flaky substances to be seen or eaten. Yet, the onion rings caught our attention at being freshly seasoned with sea salt, giving the aura of a lunch by the sea.

Next came the Fish n’ Chips. With crunchy shell, and tarter sauce on the side, the fish came out steaming. Along with the Fish N’ Chips were also traditional style fries, but The Cove gave them a slight spin. Leaving scraps of potato skin on the fried golden sticks gave the fires a slightly different taste.

After that, the Cove Burger came out fully cooked with a medium-well center. The meat was juicy with a toasted buttered bun. Burger toppings included crisp lettuce, tomato, onions, and sour pickles. It also came with fries that worked great with a side of ketchup.

A family orientated restaurant that serves up juicy burgers and sea salt butter-battered Fish N’ Chips. The food is at reasonable prices with a wide variety of selection. The Cove serves burgers, sandwiches, salads, wraps and other entrees like pasta alfredo and shrimp scampi. The Cove provides friendly service with little amount of wait time.

The Cove is located on southwest corner of Gilbert and Chandler Heights Road.
